Understanding Private Comprehensive Educational Evaluations
A comprehensive evaluation represents 8–16 hours of professional work, including testing sessions, scoring, interpretation, and report writing. Private educational testing can provide valuable insights into your child's learning style, strengths, and challenges.
How the Process Works
1. Free consultation call
We start with a free 15-minute call to discuss your concerns, answer your questions, and make sure an evaluation is the right next step.
2. Intake and records review
You'll complete a brief intake and share relevant records — report cards, prior evaluations, teacher reports. This background helps focus the evaluation on the questions you actually need answered.
3. Testing sessions
Your child meets with me for testing sessions in Sherman Oaks, Santa Monica, or your home. Testing is tailored to your child and may cover cognitive abilities, academic skills, processing, memory, attention, and social-emotional functioning. Sessions are paced with breaks so your child can do their best work.
4. Scoring, interpretation, and report
I score and interpret the results and write a comprehensive report in plain language: how your child learns, what's getting in the way, and what to do about it — with specific recommendations for home and school.
5. Results meeting
We meet to go through the findings together, answer your questions, and map out next steps, so you leave with a clear plan.
